1167278_10151766303580306_1417274989_oThis year, we’re giving you something very special to remember, as we’re bringing back Brock Zeman and his amazing friends & accompanists, Blair Hogan & Dylan Roberts!

Brock was our first guest at The Sunset Saloon, and he set the bar high. Since then, he’s been back almost every year, making this show number 4! My neighbour Shelly is the band’s official Winnipeg “road mom,” and she always goes all out, inviting folks and looking after the boys in the band. She’s dubbed this “Bedson St. Brockfest,” and that sounds about right to me!

1146202_10151766303770306_1130114892_oIf you’re not familiar with Brock, well, you need to be here. He’s got all of the skill and lyrical ability as the great Texas songwriters, but with a real rockin’ edge. He’s also bringing along a brand new CD, “Rotten Tooth,” which he calls his “most experimental production so far.” Since setting up shop at his home studio, The Big Muddy, his albums have become more powerful and intriguing. His last disc, “Me Then You,” is a modern day classic, and I can’t wait to hear what he’s done to try and top that! Come on down to The Sunset Saloon to be among the first to own this new one!

Brock’s shows have been growing in popularity over the past 5 years, so I’m cautiously optimistic that this one could SELL OUT. Don’t delay, make your plans today to be here on Nov. 11 when Brock Zeman returns to The Sunset Saloon!

Listen to an advance track from “Rotten Tooth!”

If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll see an opening set by “Whisperin’ Whitey.” Ok, maybe that wouldn’t be so lucky. This video definitely qualifies for a “Viewer Discretion Advised” warning. Not for the kiddies. Posted for comedic relief, not as an indication of what’s to come:

TTBTGH/SBR Pledge-O-Rama Exclusive CD Compilation!

Everyone who pledges to either Tell the Band to Go Home or Steel Belted Radio during UMFM’s Pledge-O-Rama, Oct. 18-25 will receive a copy of The Best of 2012, a collection of great musical moments and memories from last year!

For 10 years I put these together and gave them away at Christmas time. It took me 10 friggin’ years to figure out that taking on a time-consuming, expensive project like that at Christmas time is just plain nutty! Now, we’re rolling it out at Pledge-O-Rama time, as thanks and recognition for your generous support.

If you’re new to the package, there are 2 discs of my favourite songs from the year (one mellower and one more rockin’), as well as a CD of live performances from Tell the Band to Go Home and Steel Belted Radio throughout the year, and/or an .mp3 CD containing all of the above PLUS a collection of leftovers! We’ll give it to you in the fading CD format or hook you up with a link to download it at your leisure.

Full track listing is available by request (although I do like to think that you’ll listen to it and be surprised as you go. I’m delusional sometimes). Below is the snazzy cover art. I sincerely hope you enjoy this collection, and as always, I hope that you’ll find it in your heart to support these talented, amazing artists who make this music that I love so much!

Disc 1: Mellower Moments

Disc 2: Rockin’ Recordings

TTBEA Cover

Disc 3: Live on UMFM 2012

PSY

Disc 4: .mp3 collection

All you have to do to get your own copy of any or all of these, and/or the digital download is make a pledge to Tell the Band to Go Home or Steel Belted Radio as part of UMFM’s Pledge-O-Rama!

Pledge-O-Rama Prize List!

UMFM’s Pledge-O-Rama returns, bigger and better than ever! UMFM has put together some stellar incentives for your pledge, and there are tons of station prizes available to be won, including the venue or festival “Golden Ticket,” daily draws for a Half Pints Brewing prize package, and more! And my listeners won both last year!

In addition to those great incentives, I like to put together my own prize packages, and this year, I’ve got a pretty impressive list of great stuff to give away to supporters!

All you have to do to get in on the fun is place a pledge and put TTBTGH or SBR as your show(s) to support with it (or some of it.) No fancy draws here, you can pick your own package! Go through the list and if something looks good to you, let me know and I’ll try to get you something you’ll enjoy. The more choices you give me, the better your chance of getting something you want! Everybody wins something!

Visit the Music Angels page for photos and more information!
