Who are we? Well…

Since 2002, Tell the Band to Go Home has aired Sundays at 2 pm central time on CJUM 101.5 UMFM, broadcasting live from the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The show focuses on singer/songwriters by definition, but really, when you get down to it, we can make a case for playing just about anything (and regularly do). (see the About page for more history and info)

The show is hosted by Jeff Robson. Jeff has a life-long interest in radio, and as a kid, he wanted to be Howard Mandshein when he grew up. Amazingly, one of his first responsibilities at UMFM when he joined the team in 2000 was to be the board operator for his idol on Monday Free Range Radio. Jeff eventually became a co-host of that show, before taking over Free Range Radio on Thursday nights, with various pals, some of whom have come and gone over the years (see the Steel Belted Radio page archive for more information!) Jeff has hosted live events in and around Winnipeg, including stages at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, The River Barge Festival, and Trout Forest Music Festival, along with shows at The West End Cultural Centre, The Pyramid, and various events in his own living room, The Sunset Saloon!
