On the eve of the historic Rheostatics reunion shows going on this weekend in Toronto, a listen back to a show that was produced for their last (aborted) reunion. This show originally aired on December 6, 2012.

This is a show I’ve been thinking about doing since I started at UMFM, a beginners’ guide to Rheostatics. One of my favourite bands of all time, and a band that changed my life forever, Rheostatics albums don’t always jump out at new listeners – sometimes they’re a bit hard to get into. Tonight’s show culls some of the most amazing and accessible songs by one of Canada’s most legendary and respected bands.
