It’s a busy week on the concert calendar, so there’s plenty for us to preview, including the return of Elliott BROOD, Brock Zeman, James Keelaghan. Also on the schedule, we chat with Rose Cousins who returns to the West End and we were planning to be visited in-studio by The Wilderness of Manitoba; sadly, we had to enact the Fred Eaglesmith Clause on that one, when their gear was locked up at a venue in Brandon so they didn’t make it in time for the end of the show. They did, however, record some songs after the show, which you can listen to at the UMFM Live Sessions page.

We’ve been talking about it and preparing for it for a long time, and finally it’s here, UMFM’s first Pledge-O-Rama fall funding event. Things are a little different today, because instead of giving you the best music and information, we’re hoping that you’ll give to us and make a pledge to support the station. We’ve got plenty of prizes and incentives to dole out, and special live musical guests, Nathan!

Local singer/songwriter Don Amero has been on our radar for a few years, but today marks the first time we get to sit down and chat and hear some of his impressive songs performed live. September 29, 2002, we officially kicked off and christened Tell the Band to Go Home. Hard to believe, but 10 years later, we’re still here, still loving it, and still screwing up regularly! Today we look back at the first full decade of the show, hoping that we’ll be around for one or two more! Joining us via the telephone is one of our most played artists over the past 10 years, Jim Bryson, as well as the host that gave us the time slot and the inspiration, Lisa-Marie Serafin, former host of UMFM’s Songwriters’ Circle!
