Lynn Miles is one of Canada’s most respected and influential songwriters, with a body of work that has quietly but profoundly shaped the country’s contemporary folk and roots landscape. Based in Ottawa, she has spent decades crafting songs of remarkable emotional precision—writing that is literate without pretension, intimate without fragility, and grounded in a deep understanding of human experience.
Mike T. Kerr is a wild guitar player and ambitious songwriter. He’s lived his life through many historical and contemporary musical styles. Always curious to dig up not only a song’s history, but the shape of the world at the time, Mike plays passionately and openly while interpreting the great guitar players of the past. Mike’s show is a fireworks display of musical joy. His music strongly supports Willie Nelson’s theory that between Jazz and Country, there’s a two-way street.
Both are featured performers at this year’s Trout Forest Music Festival, in Ear Falls, ON, Aug. 14-16. It is a rare treat to have these incredible talents and performers in our area. It is an even rarer treat to get to see them in an intimate, house concert setting!
