on our “best of” lists for the year, so we ran down some contenders. And,
just before the year ends, we had to squeeze in our (almost) annual visit
from local singer/songwriter/super guy, JP Hoe to chat about his upcoming
Hoe Hoe Hoe Holiday show. He also, yet again, has some dazzling new songs to
play.

Occasionally, we take on the role of the “other” show that plays you “both kinds of music,” this week it’s the really old and the really young. Last week we had a few long-time listeners wondering if we’d lost our minds with our “hipster” set, so this week we went straight back in time for some singer/songwriter classics straight out of the history books. Heck, it almost seemed perfect that the computer was on the fritz so we even had to resort to playing vinyl for a change.

But the show was also for the very young, since I was joined by my hilarious occasional co-host Carter for some jokes and animal facts. He keeps me laughing and keeps me feeling young, so a bunch of songs for the young and the young at heart followed. Those technical difficulties made for a challenging show, but somehow, we made it through.

Tons of great new music made its way into my ears recently, so we just had to share much of it. That sent us off in all kinds of directions (as these things often do.) This week’s history lesson segment was on the late great Steve Goodman and we heard a few of his best. Last up, a brief prelude to the upcoming homecoming by Luke Doucet and the lovely Amelia Curran
