2024 was another banner year for music even though a lot of our usual favourites didn’t release new albums. This allowed for some new discoveries and unusual selections. For the first 15 years of this program, I made an annual compilation of some of my favourite songs released during the year. I revisit those often but haven’t ever really used them as the topic for a whole episode, until now. With that in mind, I went through each of the compilations and pulled out a couple of songs, then imagined what subsequent compilations might have included, for a Best of the Best of compilations, which in turn kind of serves as a very best of Tell the Band to Go Home!
