The world and our daily lives are getting more and more frightening and uncertain by the day, it seems. I don’t know what we can do about it other than to try to stay hopeful, stay positive, and lead with love and kindness. Oh, and listen to lots of great music! That’s what today’s show is primarily about, good music, the majority of it Canadian, but I’m choosing not to blame or punish good Americans and good American musicians, so we sprinkled a lot of our favourites in as well. We’ve got some new music, including a new record that might contain some of the best songwriting I’ve heard in a long, long time, and a few exciting upcoming shows to talk about!

Hudson also contributed his distinctive vocals, keyboards, accordion, and saxophone to a long list of artists and albums. For the first 15 years of this program, I made an annual compilation of some of my favourite songs released during the year. I revisit those often but haven’t ever really used them as the topic for a whole episode, until now. With that in mind, I went through each of the compilations and pulled out a couple of songs, then imagined what subsequent compilations might have included, for a Best of the Best of compilations, which in turn kind of serves as a very best of Tell the Band to Go Home!

This is one of our standby series of pre-recorded episodes that are meant to be timeless, so we can pop them into the schedule again some time when I can’t be at the studio live, so enjoy this one now and again!
