We kick things off with a birthday tribute to our namesake, Paul MacLeod, which prompted him to give us a call and chat for the first time in a long, long time. We also played some tunes in honour of ol’ Bobby Dylan’s upcoming B-Day. Surprisingly, he didn’t call us. Oh well. We heard some new music, some timely music, and all kinds of other great stuff!
Well, we’ve learned that the end of the world is near, so we’re trying to go out on a high note. We’ve got some songs about the end to ease the blow, and some great new music that must be heard before we all die. We also look ahead to the (alleged) last show we’ll ever see, featuring Sharon Jones on Friday.
The great new music just keeps rolling in – gotta love spring. We’ve got plenty to be excited about this week. We also look back on the latest StuDome concert and look ahead to some great upcoming shows this week. And, for reasons not entirely clear, we pay tribute to The Replacements. Why not?
It’s Mom’s Day, and they don’t come any more important than moms, so we’ve got a whack of songs in their honour, including some special dedications for some of our favourite mom listeners. We’ve also got some more upcoming shows to preview, and we announce the next big show at Sunset Saloon!
It’s always embarrassing when a radio guy gets laryngitis, but I just had to come in anyway, because it’s time to chat with our old pal Geoff Berner, who returns to town this week.
