Every once in a while it’s fun to tally up our playlists to see which artists, songs, and albums have been played most on the show up to that point. Previously, I’ve always done it cumulatively, adding on new plays to historic statistics to look at our all-time leaders. Those lists are always skewed toward artists that have been around for a long time, have released a lot of albums, and played in Winnipeg a lot over the nearly 20 years that we’ve been on the air.

But what about the new kids?

That’s why, this time, I thought I’d just look at what’s been played most since the last major tally, looking at our first 800 episodes.

Since I’ll probably want to do another full tally next year when we officially complete 20 full years on the air (!) (assuming I last that long…), this set of standings is just based on episodes 801-899, making for a rather interesting snapshot of the last two years. Some artists high atop the all-time list have been nearly absent over the past couple of years, and some new artists have become mainstays. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions about that if you wish, but just for fun, you’ll find lists below of our most played artists, albums, and songs, covering episodes 801-899.
