Although I like to yak a lot on the radio and I tend to be rather long-winded when writing, often I don’t know quite what to say about the world around me, so I love to let the music do the talking. Today was a day to work through a few themes that are on my mind, namely politics, natural disasters, hope/faith, and work (it is Labour Day weekend and my summer job is over and time to get back to reality next week.)

Another pre-taped Tell the Band to Go Home spectacular.
Music in remembrance of Sept. 11, in honour of Kristi’s birthday, and a special set of music recorded live on UMFM in honour of the anniversary of the debut of Steel Belted Free Range Radio.
We also revisit an interview with Willy Porter which was taped just before the Winnipeg Folk Festival, but because of computer problems and because most of us were at the festival, it’s one that not many people heard, so we’ll give you another chance.
We end it off with a tribute to one of the greatest singer/songwriters of them all. Sept. 12 marks the anniversary of the day that the world lost Johnny Cash, so we played some great Johnny & June in remembrance of them both.
