November 4, 2012

It’s a busy week on the concert calendar, so there’s plenty for us to preview, including the return of Elliott BROOD, Brock Zeman, James Keelaghan. Also on the schedule, we chat with Rose Cousins who returns to the West End and we were planning to be visited in-studio by The Wilderness of Manitoba; sadly, we had to enact the Fred Eaglesmith Clause on that one, when their gear was locked up at a venue in Brandon so they didn’t make it in time for the end of the show. They did, however, record some songs after the show, which you can listen to at the UMFM Live Sessions page.

Steel Belted Radio – Oct. 25, 2012 – Pledge-O-Rama!

It’s UMFM’s first Pledge-O-Rama, so this week, instead of giving to you by sharing great music and information, we’re looking for you to give something back by phoning in a pledge to help the station. In exchange, we’ve got plenty of great prizes and incentives to give away. And, best of all, we’ve got Del Barber and his band live in the studio to perform!

October 21, 2012 – Pledge-O-Rama!

We’ve been talking about it and preparing for it for a long time, and finally it’s here, UMFM’s first Pledge-O-Rama fall funding event. Things are a little different today, because instead of giving you the best music and information, we’re hoping that you’ll give to us and make a pledge to support the station. We’ve got plenty of prizes and incentives to dole out, and special live musical guests, Nathan!

Local singer/songwriter Don Amero has been on our radar for a few years, but today marks the first time we get to sit down and chat and hear some of his impressive songs performed live. We’ve got a few other exciting shows to preview, and of course, UMFM Pledge-O-Rama kicks off next week, so this is our last pre-pledge show!

Steel Belted Radio – Oct. 11, 2012

Pre-recorded today, but we’ve got plenty of great upcoming shows to talk about, including the return of CR Avery, the long-awaited return of Matt Mays, and a show tonight featuring one of our favourites, Sunparlour Players! The version of this show that aired on UMFM contained an interview with Andrew & Rosie of Sunparlour Players, so the last half hour of this podcast is a download exclusive.
