Check out this amazing auction in support of UMFM Pledge-O-Rama 2012!

Since his 1988 smash hit debut album, Colin James has been one of Canada’s most respected and successful guitarists and songwriters. He’s got a solid background in the blues but has incorporated a wide variety of other styles to create his own unique sound. He’s sold a lot of records and put on countless, amazing shows. But did you know that he’s also a bit of an environmentalist? Well, at least he played on on TV. Back in March of 1992, Colin was hired to star in a 5 minute DVD documentary about the moisture cycle on the Canadian Prairie. Ducks Unlimited produced a DVD where Colin sat in a recording studio and told viewers all about the moisture cycle. And, luckily, he had his guitar in hand to provide a bluesy solo soundtrack.

Yes, it’s as weird and wonderful as it sounds. You’ve never seen this before, and you certainly don’t have a copy. I bet Colin doesn’t even have a copy of this. But win this auction, and that’ll change, because you’ll own this unique item.

And, best of all, we’re throwing in the original script used in the studio, and it’s SIGNED by Colin James! This makes this truly a one-of-a-kind auction. It should probably be in a music museum somewhere, but you could frame it, amaze your friends, or whatever you want.

All of my current auctions are in support of CJUM 101.5 UMFM’s Pledge-O-Rama fall funding drive. UMFM has been providing original campus and community radio for almost 15 years, and finally, we’ve come to a point where we need a little bit of help keeping things going. We’re raising money in our first significant funding drive, and all money raised from these auctions goes directly to helping under-exposed music and ideas get on the airwaves. If you are in Winnipeg and can pick this up at UMFM, shipping is absolutely free, and we’ll get to thank you for your support in person.
